In North Vietnam, November is autumn. November 2018 the North of Vietnam experienced the first week with wet weather conditions. Then, it was mostly sunny throughout the month. There was a new spell of winter monsoon to the North in the third week of November. The temperatures were 16-29oC in the lowlands and 14-26oC in the mountains.
The North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) has similar weather conditions to the North while Ha Tinh experienced rainy weather coming towards the end of November 2018. The temperatures were 18-29oC.
The coastal areas in the Central Region of Vietnam (Central Coast of Vietnam including: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan) experienced half sunny weather and half rainy weather in the first half of November 2018. The temperatures were mostly 21-32oC.
There were successive 2 tropical storms which hit the Central Regions and South Vietnam (Typhoon No. 8 and No. 9 in 2018) which caused torrential rains in the Central Region and the Central Highlands. Destructive floods were found in Khanh Hoa (including Nha Trang) and Ninh Thuan Provinces. Bad landslides took place in Nha Trang. The storms accompanied by floods destroyed a few hundred meters of rail tracks which run between the North and the South of Vietnam, train service was halted a few days after the latter typhoon. It was rainy mostly for the region from Quang Binh to Nha Trang in the last week of November, 2018. The temperatures were 20-30oC.
The Central Highlands of Vietnam has been around the end of the rainy season. But in 2018, the Central Highlands received torrential rains in the second half of November due to Typhoon No.8 and No. 9 in 2018 (Toragi and Usagi respectively). Landslides were found in the roads leading to the coastal region. Due to landslides at the Khanh Le Pass, the road from Da Lat to Nha Trang was closed via this way. For a few days at the end of the month, the Central Highlands enjoyed mostly sunny weather. The temperatures were 20-30oC while they were 15-23oC in Da Lat.
The South of Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Vung Tau, Dong Nai, and the Mekong Delta) had nice weather in the first half of November, 2018. In the second half of November, successive storms No. 8 and 9 caused torrential rains. Ho Chi Minh City and a few other cities in the South were flooded badly during and a few days after Typhoon No.9 – Usagi. Traffic and most work activities in the city were halted during and after the latter typhoon. The South of Vietnam enjoyed mostly sunny weather for a few days at the end of the month, there were some rains in the Mekong Delta. The temperatures were 24-33oC.
