1/ The Imperial Citadel (Dai Noi)

This was where the Royal Family lived and the Royal Court was seated. The hundred architectures and monuments still left nowadays include:

3/ The Perfume River

The river of which the name literally means perfume bisects the city into the north and south, or old and new respectively. The Perfume River offers lovely river cruises, riversides teeming with riparian life. The Perfume River is an axis for important architectures in Hue.

4/ Thien Mu (Linh Mu) Pagoda

This is a really important place in Hue for the Royal Family in the past and for local communities now.

5/ Vong Canh Hill (Observation Hill)

The hill offers lovely idyllic landscapes by the Perfume River.

6/ Ngu Binh Hill

This was a retreat site for the Royal Family in the past. There are pine woods overlooking the Perfume River.

7/ Truong Tien Bridge

Spanning the Perfume River, this French-styled bridge has become one of the unofficial symbols of Hue.

8/ Hon Chen Temple

This is spiritual place for a local cult: Dao Mau. The site can be reached either by land or river.

9/ The Royal Fine Arts Museum

The site is in Bao Dinh Palace.

10/ Tinh Tam Lake (Lake of Meditation)

A lovely lake with an island in the middle behind the Imperial Citadel.

11/ Garden Houses

These are amazing legacies of Hue. The lovely architectures surrounded by green gardens make them unique of Hue.

12/ Dong Ba Market

The market for the inhabitants of Hue is by the riverside and close to the Imperial Citadel. This is an amazing place showing a lot about Hue and its local culture and not to be missed!
