Travel Guide to the Cat Cat Village and Waterfall, Sapa
Sapa is home to several ethnic minorities but it was the French colonialists who turned Sapa into a hill station to escape summer heat in the delta. Due to the raging wars and later economic sanctions, Vietnam was not on the travel map for a long time. When the economic sanctions were lifted, Vietnam was open to foreign visitors, Sapa quickly turned into a favorite destination to most foreign travelers again.
The word Cat Cat originates from the French word – cascade. In Sapa, Cat Cat is the name of a Black Hmong Village and also the name of a breathtaking waterfall nearby.
