General Weather Patterns in Vietnam in December
December is the winter in northern Vietnam with temperatures ranging from cold to very cold (below 10oC-15oC).

December is the dry season in the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam. The temperatures in the Central Highlands are 20-28oC and those in southern Vietnam are 24-32oC.
The prevalent winds in Vietnam in December is often the Northeasterly Wind which has impact on almost all of Vietnam. Southern Vietnam and the Central Highlands may have some days with the Southwesterly Wind which causes some light and short-lived rain.

During the time under impact of a typhoon or tropical depression, extremely rough sea is expected in the Central Region of Vietnam and southern Vietnam, and boat traffic between the inland and the offshore islands are disrupted in these regions.

There are chances of weather dangers in Vietnam in December which are more likely to come from torrential rain which is often worse due to occasional typhoons or tropical depressions.
It is the norm that more dangers are in the Central Region of Vietnam in December. There may be some dangers between roads connecting the Central Highlands and the Central Coast.
