Phu Quoc Island is a popular tourist attraction, off the shore of southern Vietnam. The island is well-known for the pristine beaches, fish sauce and black pepper. The island also offers opportunities for adventure tours in the primeval forests, for snorkeling and scuba diving tours.
There have been quite a few development with the tourist infrastructure on the island. There are more and more luxury resorts springing up on Phu Quoc recently. Phu Quoc International Airport has just been completed and open for long-haul flights from other cities in Vietnam and other countries.
The route between Hanoi and Phu Quoc is the longest flight route in Vietnam at the time of press. Earlier, there were only flights operated by Air Mekong. There are still serious lack of accommodations on the islands and air tickets for the flights bound for Phu Quoc in peak tourist seasons.
