Swiftlet Island (Dao Yen) also called Hon Noi island is located between the Nha Trang Bay and the Cam Ranh Bay. The island is 13 nautical miles (25km) south east of Nha Trang City.
Swiflets make their nets from their own saliva on the rock cliffs and inside caves on these islands, and these bird nests are nutritious and good for health.
There are some islands off the shore of Nha Trang which are home to swiftlets. Most of these islands are not open to tourists to protect the untouched natural environment for the birds. Also, bird nests provide good incomes that the authority wants to protect.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit the Swiftlet Island is from April through July when the island is open to tourism and the weather is nice. Sometimes it is possible to visit the island in August and September depending on weather conditions.

1/ Visit Sam Island
The Sam island is close to the Swiftlet Island and is the first stop on a boat trip from inland.
On this island the visitors are briefed on the life of the swiftlets and the process of collecting bird nests.
Another island not open to tourists but the visitors can have a look from distant is the Hon Ngoai Island.
2/ The Doi Beach (Twin Beach)
The beach is a sandy path linking to parts of the island. The white sand and turquoise blue sea are enticing to everyone!
3/ Climbing the Du Ha Mountain
The Du Ha Mountain is 90 high from the top of which you can have good views of the whole surroundings!
4/ Snorkeling, Submarine for watching sea underwater life
There are colorful coral reefs around the Swiftlet Island that you can take a submarine trip or go snorkeling to marvel at.
5/ Kayaking on the blue sea amid paradise
There is another option of kayaking around the island with unreal beautiful nature around!
How To Get There
The Swiftlet Island has been leased to a company to administer and travelers who would like to travel to the island are to book tours from this company. There is a limit of 100 visitors per day allowed to visit this island.
The tours to the Swiftlet Island are all to start from the Cau Da Pier in Nha Trang City. There are two options: to travel by wooden boat which takes 1 hour 20 minutes and by speedboat which takes 30 minutes.
