Binh Thuan Province is in the south of the Central Coast of Vietnam. Phu Quy Island is an offshore island 56km (104km) southeast of Phan Thiet City. The island land area is 17 square kilometers.

4/ Cao Cat Mountain, Linh Son Pagoda
The mountain has a big statute of the Goddess of Mercy. From the mountain top, we can have good views of the surroundings.
5/ Ong Van An Thanh – Whale Temple
This is a temple dedicated to the dead whales which locals found and buried. Whales are considered friends and patron saints of sailors and fishermen by many fishing communities in Vietnam.
6/ Ban Tranh Temple
The temple was built in the 15th century and is dedicated to a Cham princess named Ban Tranh. The princess is said to be banished to the island where she started a new life and started building up a community here. She is revered as the Goddess of the Phu Quy Island.
7/ Thay Nai Temple
Thay Nai was a Chinese merchant who was brought to the Phu Quy Island by a storm and who decided to settle on the island for life. Thay Nai was also Chinese medicine practitioner who helped locals with his medicinal knowledge. After he died in 1665, locals built a temple to worship him here.

The Phu Quy Island has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons: rainy season from May through October or November, and the dry season from November or December through April.
The best time to visit the island is from April through June during which time there is plenty of sunshine and the sea is calm. The wettest time of the year is often in September and October, sometimes November.
