Dong Van Plateau is the most unique and unusual place in Vietnam and this was the last place in the country open to tourism. The area is last part of the border region in Vietnam which still had conflicts in the early 1990s.

Dong Van Plateau has a tropical monsoon climate on high altitudes: dry season from late November through April and rainy season from May to November. The temperatures are cool in the winter from late October through February which are mostly from below 10oC to 12oC. During the summer months, the temperatures are from 21-29oC.

The Lao Xa Village is in Sung La Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province. The village is home to the H’Mong People who still maintains their traditional occupation of making silver wares beside their main livelihood of agriculture.

The Lo Lo Chai Village is in Lung Cu, in the Dong Van Karst Plateau in Ha Giang Province, northern Vietnam. The village is home to the ethnic Lo Lo People who lives a traditional life that has not been changed much by tourism.

Ma Pi Leng Pass is a 21km road passing through an area of rocky mountains with peaks of 2,000m above sea level. The pass itself is on elevation of 1,200-1,600m above sea level. The road through the pass is called “Road of Happiness” - Con Duong Hanh Phuc.

Nam Dam is a Dao Village in Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Province. While Quan Ba is part of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, Nam Dam is a green oasis amid everything-is-rock world of the plateau. There are forest and mountains, rice and corn terraces hillsides...
