8-May-2019 A rainy day in North Vietnam, cloudy and rainy day in the Central Region (including the Central Highlands), a cloudy day in South Vietnam. Lovely temperatures (below 35oC) are everywhere except for Binh Dinh (high at 36oC). The cool northerly wind in northern Vietnam makes the air pleasant. Still, this weather pattern is not normal in the summer in the North. The northerly wind is found mostly in the winter and it seems the North of Vietnam has switched back to winter weather patterns.
1/The Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): rains all over, 19-27oC. Dong Van Pleau (Ha Giang) is rainy, 13-17oC.
The Northwest of Vietnam: Hoa Binh and Yen Bai have clouds and sun, rains in Lao Cai, 21-29oC. Sapa is rainy, 13-19oC. Mu Cang Chai has thunderstorms, 17-24oC.
Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: rains all over, 21-34oC. Moc Chau Plateau has thunderstorms, 18-23oC.
The lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh): rains all over, lovely temperatures, 22-27oC. Hanoi has light showers. Hanoi has strong northerly winds today, just like a winter day, pleasant temperatures though.
2/North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) clouds all over, 22-31oC.
3/The coastal areas in the Central Region of Vietnam (Central Coast of Vietnam including: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan)
Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: rains all over, 26-33oC.
Da Nang, Hoi An: clouds and sun, afternoon rains, 26-34oC;
Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh (Quy Nhon Beach), Phu Yen (Tuy Hoa Beach): clouds all over, 26-33oC mostly, 27-36oC and rains in Binh Dinh.
Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Ninh Thuan (Ninh Chu Beach), Binh Thuan (Phan Thiet Beach, Mui Ne Beach): sun and clouds in Ninh Thuan, rains in Binh Thuan and Nha Trang, 27-34oC mostly, 27-36oC in Ninh Thuan.
4/The Central Highlands (Kon Tum, Gia Lai - Pleiku, Dak Lak - Buon Ma Thuot, Lam Dong) rains and clouds all over, 22-31oC. Da Lat has rains, 18-24oC.
5/The South of Vietnam: Torrential rains may cause temporary floods in cities. It is recommended to exercise caution when traveling on flooded roads. Several accidents due to strong currents on flooded streets/roads have happened.
- Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta have clouds and rains in several provinces, 27-34oC.
- Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc: clouds and sun mostly, patchy torrential rains, 27-34oC. Heavy rains make cities and towns temporarily flooded.
Con Dao Islands have thunderstorms, 28-30oC; Phu Quoc Island is sunny and cloudy, 27-31oC.
