6-May-2019 A new seasonal weather pattern has been established in Vietnam: dry and hot season in the Central Coast, rainy season in the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam. It has been unsual in northern Vietnam as the northerly wind blows. This type of wind should be in the winter or spring only and should not be present in the North in May. The northerly wind makes it cloudy, dry and beautiful a day in most of northern Vietnam and in Hanoi.
1/The Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): clouds all over and patchy rains, 21-30oC. Dong Van Pleau (Ha Giang) is cloudy and rainy, 15-25oC.
The Northwest of Vietnam: Hoa Binh and Lao Cai have clouds, rains in Yen Bai, 23-29oC mostly, 25-34oC in Lao Cai. Sapa is cloudy, 15-23oC. Mu Cang Chai has clouds, 19-28oC.
Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: clouds, 22-34oC, 24-37oC in Dien Bien Phu. Moc Chau Plateau has clouds and sun, 20-28oC.
The lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh): clouds all over, lovely temperatures, 24-31oC. Hanoi is dry, cloudy and very pleasant with the cool northerly wind which blows mostly in the winter and spring.
2/North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) clouds all over, 26-34oC.
3/The coastal areas in the Central Region of Vietnam (Central Coast of Vietnam including: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan)
Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: clouds all over and hot, afternoon rains in Quang Tri, evenening thunderstorm in Hue, 27-38oC.
Da Nang, Hoi An: clouds and sun, hot, afternoon rains, 27-36oC;
Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh (Quy Nhon Beach), Phu Yen (Tuy Hoa Beach): sun and clouds, afternoon rains in Binh Dinh, hot 27-38oC mostly, Phu Yen 27-34oC.
Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Ninh Thuan (Ninh Chu Beach), Binh Thuan (Phan Thiet Beach, Mui Ne Beach): sun and clouds, 27-34oC.
4/The Central Highlands (Kon Tum, Gia Lai - Pleiku, Dak Lak - Buon Ma Thuot, Lam Dong) clouds all over, afternoon patchy rains, 22-33oC. Da Lat has clouds and sun, afternoon rains, 18-25oC.
5/The South of Vietnam:
- Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta have clouds, sun and patchy rains, 27-35oC, 27-36oC in Tien Giang.
- Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc: clouds and sun mostly, afternoon rains all over, 26-35oC; 28-36oC in Tay Ninh.
Con Dao Islands are clouds and sun, 26-28oC; Phu Quoc Island is sunny and cloudy, 28-31oC.
