18-April-2019 The hot and low-pressure air masses which started causing the temperatures in the Northwest of Vietnam to record high yesterday are having their effects in the Northwest and the North of the Central Region of Vietnam today. The temperatures are to get more than 36oC in the affected regions. The heat strike is to continue making the temperatures in most of Vietnam above 36oC in the next few days. The expected hottest regions are North of Vietnam, the Central Coast north of the Hai Van Pass and South of Vietnam.
1/The Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): patchy rains and clouds, 22-31oC. Ha Giang is sunny, 18-28oC. Dong Van Pleau (Ha Giang) is cloudy & sunny, 22-26oC.
The Northwest of Vietnam (Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Lao Cai): foggy in Hoa Binh, sunny in the others; 24-34oC. Lao Cai is sunny and hot, 24-37oC. Sapa is sunny, 15-26oC. Mu Cang Chai is sunny, 18-30oC.
Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: bright sunshine and hot, 22-38oC. Moc Chau Plateau is sunny, 25-30oC. The heat strike started affecting Vietnam in the Northwest yesterday and is expanding its influence to the other regions of the country today. Recorded highest temperatures are Muong Lay (Dien Bien) 40.2oC, Muong La (Son La) 42oC , Song Ma (Son La) 40.5oC, Yen Chau (Son La) 41.4oC, Phu Yen (Son La) 40.6oC.
The lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh) are sunny, 27-34oC. Hanoi is moist and cloudy in the morning, windy, dry and cloudy for the rest of the day.
2/North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) are sunny and hot, 28-37oC. Highest recorded temperatures: Con Cuong (Nghe An) 40.7oC, Tuong Duong (Nghe An) 40.8oC, Huong Khe (Ha Tinh) 40.6oC.
3/The coastal areas in the Central Region of Vietnam (Central Coast of Vietnam including: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan)
Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: sunny and hot, 27-38oC.
Da Nang, Hoi An: sunny, 26-33oC;
Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh (Quy Nhon Beach), Phu Yen (Tuy Hoa Beach): sunny, 23-33oC.
Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Ninh Thuan (Ninh Chu Beach), Binh Thuan (Phan Thiet Beach, Mui Ne Beach): sunny, 27-33oC.
4/The Central Highlands (Kon Tum, Gia Lai - Pleiku, Dak Lak - Buon Ma Thuot, Lam Dong) patchy rains and sunshine, 22-32oC; Da Lat is sunny, 17-25oC.
5/The South of Vietnam (Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta) is sun mostly, patchy rains, 27-34oC. Rains across the coastal region from Vung Tau to Mekong Delta.
Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc: patchy rains, 26-35oC.
Con Dao Islands are cloudy, 28-31oC; Phu Quoc Island is sunny, 27-31oC.
