Yen Tu Mountain Travel Guide and Attractions, Quang Ninh
The Yen Tu Mountain is a mountain range running mainly on the east-west axis, higher to the east and lower to the west. The mountain range starts in Bac Giang Province (Yen Dung, Luc Nam, Luc Ngan and Son Dong Districts), goes south to Uong Bi City (Quang Ninh Province) and travel east and ends at the Con Son Mountain in Hai Duong Province.

The highest peak of the Yen Tu Mountain, which is located in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh, is 1,068m above sea level. The lowest area of the Yen Tu Mountain is at the Con Son Mountain (200m).
The Yen Tu Mountain is home to several amazing natural and cultural tourist attractions.
In Bac Giang Province, there are attractions to the north and west of the Yen Tu Mountain which include:
- The Tay Yen Tu (West Yen Tu Nature Reserve);
- Tay Yen Tu Relic and Landscape which is a series of Buddhist Pagodas on mountain slopes. These pagodas were related to the foundation of Zen Buddhism in Vietnam;
In Quang Ninh Province where most of the Yen Tu Mountain Range is located:
- The Yen Tu Nature Reserve;
- Yen Tu Pagodas.
Annual Festival at Yen Tu
The Annual Festival at the Yen Tu Pagoda starts from the 9th of the First Lunar Month and lasts till the end of the Third Lunar Month. The main festival day is on the 10th of the First Lunar Month.
Each year, the Yen Tu Pagoda and Yen Tu Mountain receive several hundred pilgrims. All places in the pagoda complex should be overcrowded during this time.
How to get there
The Yen Tu Pagoda is 140km east of Hanoi via Route 1A and Route 18. The roads are in great conditions and traffic may be busy.
