Overview
The Thung Khe Pass is on the same mountain which runs from Tan Lac – Lung Van – Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Thung Khe belongs to Mai Chau District and from the top of the pass we get get great views of the pristine valley below.
Things to do
The Thung Khe Pass itself is a great place to get relaxed and adore the amazing nature around. Besides, you can go hiking down the mountain slope visiting villages of the Muong People at the mountain base. The hike may take a couple of hours or more if you wish.
Alternatively you can go biking on the riverside road and take in the lovely scenery by the Da River and the Ba Khan Reservoir.
How to get there
The Thung Khe Pass is right on Route 6 between Hanoi and Mai Chau. The mountain pass is 10km from Mai Chau Valley and 140km from Hanoi. The gradient on either side of the Thung Khe Pass is steep and long and pose great dangers to passers-by.
Be also extremely careful during the time it rains heavily and after a heavy rain as flowing rain water may cause rock slides.
