Vietnam to halt granting visas to all nationalities to fight COVID-19
In an effort to curb the spread of the new coronavirus COVID, the Vietnamese government is to stop granting visas to all nationalities for 30 days. The new policy is to come into effect from 00:00 18-March-2020.
Those who travel to Vietnam under visa-free policy must possess an ascertainment of not being NCOV-infected by an authorized organization/governmental body which must be accepted by Vietnam.
The new policy is not applicable to visits on diplomatic purposes or other governmental assignments recognized by Vietnam.
This is a tougher policy by the Vietnamese Government against the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic. By far the cases of infections in Vietnam have been mostly attributed to Vietnamese travelers coming back to the country and foreign visitors.
