June is the summer in North Vietnam and the beginning of the typhoon season in the North. 1/North of Vietnam there are occasional rains with thunderstorms in the North and there are more days on which the temperatures are higher than 35oC compared to May in most of the North; hence higher averaged temperatures. June is when the North of Vietnam start having typhoons and tropical depressions which may cause incessant rains for a few days which result in flash floods, landslides and traffic blocked in the far-northern mountains and cruises on Halong Bay prohibited during the influence of a typhoon or tropical depression.

- The Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen) has the lowest temperatures of all sub-regions in the North, 25-35oC.

- The Northwest of Vietnam has 2 sub-regions:
+ Hoa Binh, Yen Bai and Lao Cai has lower temperature levels: 30-35oC

+ Son La, Dien Bien and Lai Chau are still affected by the foehn effect but less than May, and has higher temperatures than the rest of North Vietnam, 30-36oC.

- The lowlands (Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh) has sunny weather most of the time, but there are short-lived rains with thunderstorm every now and then. The temperatures are 30-35oC. Bac Ninh weather in June

2/North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) is sunny and dry mostly. This region is still under the influence of the foehn effect and the temperatures are high, 32-37oC.

3/The coastal areas in the Central Region of Vietnam (Central Coast of Vietnam including: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan) is the hot season with occasional rains.

- Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: sunny and hot mostly, 32-36oC.

- Da Nang, Hoi An: sunny, 30-36oC;

- Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh (Quy Nhon Beach), Phu Yen (Tuy Hoa Beach): sunny, 32-36oC.

- Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Ninh Thuan (Ninh Chu Beach), Binh Thuan (Phan Thiet Beach, Mui Ne Beach): sunny, 28-35oC.

4/The Central Highlands (Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong) are in the rainy season, 20-32oC. The rains are short-lived and normally in the afternoon and it is normally sunny and cloudy in day time.

5/The South of Vietnam (Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta) is in the rainy season. The temperatures are 26-34oC. The rains are often in the afternoon daily and last for 30 – 60 minutes each.
The vicinity Saigon to the Northwest (Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc): in the rainy season, lovely temperatures, 26-33oC.
